synopsis -

The summary  The brief over view of my music video is: It is a young teenage girl who is battling her drug addiction and instead of seeking help she seeks attention. She leaves school after taking some drugs and as she is walking through the ground of the school she starts to see everything as an illusion. Her ultimate goal is to go to the beach and the beach is a metaphor for her getting help. The use of time in the video is to show how long she has needed help and nothing has been done to help her. She is a stereotypical moody teen with family issues and so she turns to drugs as her comfort. This video is suppose to open up teenage drug addiction because I believe that there is so much more people could do to help young teens with addictions like these.  Hopefully this is clear in the video.

5 SECTIONS FOR VIDEO -

One main character -  school girl. The inspiration for my character to be a young teenage girl comes from the age of the audience as it is 16-25 year olds having a seven teen year old girl as the main focus would interest the intended audience. I am aiming to get the character to look as stereotypical as I can. Especially as this particular teenager is struggling with a drug addiction, so she should have bags under her eyes, she should be constantly fidgeting, she should be looking under dressed and really run down. My aim is to get the audience to understand it immediately with out the use of 'drugs' to be used - if the worst comes to the worst then I will obviously create a scene where the character will pretend to take the 'drugs' to make the final outcome realistic. Location 1 the school - I really want to show that she is a school girl and the best way to do that is to show her in school. I want to maybe show her in a classroom or her walking through the school wit

Plan of original images -

Take photos of the artist at the beach.  Some on the streets of the village/ find a cool background to take images against. Take some in the school bathrooms. Then maybe go to photography department and take portraiture images against a black background - head shots of the artist.

The genre in the record company -

Image
Some artist that Warner Music Group works with -  protest song  - a song that is associated with a movement for social change, part of the broader category (topical songs), but can be fluid in genre genre  - a style or category of art, music or literature A protest song can be anything from an uprising against a country leader to a group of people chanting loudly to get someones attention for example workers go on strike. Most protest songs are context bound, linking to specific political climates in specific countries, for example 'Love it if We Made It' by The 1975 is specifically about 2016-2018 America, with lyrics such as 'rest in peace Lil Peep' and 'Kneeling on a pitch', both referencing two events that took place in America during the time period. Protest songs have been part of the music scene for many years, with protest songs in America dating back to the Civil War, and in Britain, there are protest songs dating back to before the suffragette moveme

Artist video research -

Image
Artist past video research -  Prayer -  One main person during the whole of the video (choir and god). There is use of lip synching. Set mainly in a church and some parts are on a street.  The church relates to the title of the song 'Like a prayer'. The words of the song almost tell the story that is being told in the music video. The side story to the main story in the video is the fact that a group of men stab a young women and then when the group of men leave a young black man comes to save her, this is when the police turn up and presume that he is the attacker.  This is a protest video in itself as it is showing racism and people of colour being mis treated even if they are innocent.  Madonna is the only good white person shown in the whole video everyone else who is represented is black. Vogue -  The video is all in a black and white filter. The opening scenes opens up to what looks like an art exhibition but the art is the people modelling.  There are dancers who are w

Casting

I have chosen to cast the girl I did because she fits well with the type of image I wanted to create. Although she is blonde and I originally wanted to cast someone who looked like Effy from Skins, my idea changed because I casted the right girl as she was completely up for doing anything. She was good at following instructions and even gave me ideas on how to improve some of the locations.  She also fits with the age range and I find that she is appealing to the audience. She is a seven teen year old girl, with blonde hair, blue eyes, she is small and thin - some would say she is perfect.
