HEAD SHOTS

Image
These are the headshots of my star for the music video. I chose this person to star in my video as they were confident in front of the camera, and their looks and personality matched what I wanted to be perceived in the video

Things to consider

Image
How will I achieve my idea: With a huge amount of planning and a realistic target that I know I will be able to get done. What props will I need:                                                                                                                                  The orange bottle that pills normally come in, flashing lights, school uniform e.t.c Who will be in it: One main character who will be the centre of the video - everything will based around her life. Then in the background there will be school children and the general public (maybe a parental figure). Where will it be located: Part of it will be a school and part of it will be outside a school in London - streets. Colour theme: If you have watched the television series Euphoria you will know that it is based off a drug addicted teenage girl who is trying to sober up. In the series there are various gel lights and a lot of bisexual lighting so I want to keep this theme of a similar lighting style the same. How does

Permission Warner Bros

Here is where I have asked Warner Bros Music Group if I could have permission to use the song Hung Up.

Audience

Image
Using the UK tribes online channel 4 website I have defined my audience into two people: The first being a styler who is in the urban category and the other being a trendie in the aspirant category.  These most relate to the audience because Madonna is very main stream high class women who people absolutely adore and I feel that the people I have chosen have the same feelings. They are pictured below. I have chosen the song Hung Up by Madonna it has been adopted by the gay rights community and therefore can be used as a protest song. Madonna is also with the record company Warner Bros.   My ideas haven’t really developed into how I can create my music video to show protest. One of my ideas is to follow a teenage girl around the age of 17-18 in her daily routine but she has a problem with metal health and drug addictions. As she goes through her day she starts seeing things and everything slows down. - ‘Time goes by so slowly’  The words ‘ I don’t know what to do’ is a symbol that she

Song choice

Image
I have chosen the song Hung Up by Madonna because it is such an iconic song that has been adopted by the gay community. In this song Madonna is waiting for a guy to call her as the phrase ‘time goes by so slowly’ shows that she has been waiting for a long time or could mean that it actually hasn’t been that long. The music is based off of the song ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimmie!’ by Abba. Hung Up has been one of Maddona most successful songs with a 8.7 million copies being sold world wide. It was top of the charts in 41 countries it was also preformed in London at the children in need concert in 2006.  https://www.songfacts.com/facts/madonna/hung-up I have looked at three other of Madonnas songs which are my favourite; Vogue, Like a virgin and Material girl. These are my favourite because Vogue is such a classic song and it has such a good simple music video. Like a virgin really simple to it the camera follows Madonna around Venice and then in true madonna fashion she has a lion appear. Her

The history of the genre.

The genre of that our music video has to fit into is protest. This means that it has to be a song that has a message to do with protesting against something or someone. The history of the genre protest –  Protest music has been around for centuries when it became so popular due to people being able to express there feelings with a catchy song or in a way that would get people of higher authority attention. Protest songs are usually written as part of a movement for political or cultural reasons but this can vary. The broadness of the genre gives song writers political freedom which is a way to get there message or point into peoples heads. Songs can change from being quiet and haunting to someone screaming down a microphone about death but these are all accepted as protest songs.  The first American protest songs were created due to war and slavery to create awareness for the huge issues that many people were not aware about at the time. The use of simple verses and repetitive lyrics p
